Tanya personifies the saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover", she has some peculiar personality traits that seem to contridict each other at first glance. Tanya was raised in an extremely conservitice Catholic family, she wasn't even allowed to eat sweets during the weekday. She lived a pretty sheltered life so it was quite a shock when she moved from the quiet town of Stewartville, Minnisota to the Big Apple. As soon as she stepped foot into the hubub that is synonomous with New York City she was corrupted, her parents saw a difiance in her that they had never encountered in their daughter before. She gave them lip when asked to do something she didn't want to do, she wore risque clothing, she listened to jazz music. It wasn't long before her father kicked her out after discovering her getting handsy with some random gangster. Tanya was left to fend for herself and lucky for her it wasn't long before she ran into an old friend. Beverly Collins (now going my the moniker Jezebel) was her friend back at boarding school in New Hampshire they had grow apart after graduation but quickly picked back up where they left off. Of course when Beverly introduced Tanya into the world of burlesque dancing and hooch she saw a whole other side of her prep school pal.
Upon first glance most assume Tanya is just a waitress at the Spiked Tiger, just taking drink and food orders and offering cigars to the patrons. Tanya quite enjoys the surpised looks she gets when she performs on stage, her act is quite different from the other's, while most end their performances in a bikini like outfit Tanya usually strips down to nothing but a lace thong and pasties (though on ocassion she won't even have the pasites on). Tanya's quite and polite attitude is vastly different from the persona she has on stage, though if you knew her well enough you'd know that "Ya-ya the Conqueror" isn't really that much of a stretch from Tanya Castellano. She is a fan of dirty jokes and enjoys a good romp in the hay to relieve stress, if you're lucky (or unlucky) enough to be standing beside Tanya during a disscussion you might catch a few of the amusing innapropriate comments muttered under her breath.
Tanya has been called a 'femme fatale' by many of her consorts, who are lured in by her docile disposition then get the surprise of their lives when they discover she's far less submissive in the bedroom. Yes, it's fair to say that when it comes to Tanya you can't trust your first impressions.
