What's this? I'm adding my spiel before the story? Anarchy! In all seriousness I've actually had this buried in my drafts for the longest time. I wasn't sure if I should edit or add to it. Hell I wasn't even sure I was going to publish this one. It's technically out of place in the time line. It's supposed to happen sometime before Sappo snitched on Yury. This tie-bit delves into Tanya's life, it's also got a bit of Jez being a bit of a stuck up hypocrite too.

I'm also going to add a trigger warning, just to be on the safe side. It's got suggestive themes of abuse.

“See ya tomorrow, Ya-ya!”

Tanya turned to flash a wicked smile at the tall canine that was shouting down the hallway. She tugged the cloth belt tighter around her waist, pulling the knee length winter coat closed. As she passed an elderly raccoon that was puffing away on a lit cigarette the raccoon gave her a disapproving look. Tanya just shrugged and pushed her way through the front door of the apartment building. The chilly night air blew straight through her khaki coat and she was shivering before she was down the steps. She passed a bulky leopard and shot him a smile, he gave her a knowing smirk before entering into the apartment complex she had just left.

It took Tanya longer than usual to walk back home, the bitter cold forcing her to step into a general store in an attempt to warm up a bit before braving the cold once again. As she ascended the stairs of her own apartment complex there was a loud commotion and Tanya barely had time to move out of the way as Davin came barreling down the stairs.

“She’s in a mood t’night, Anya!” He shouted as he burst out into the cold. Tanya had to fight down a grin as she braced herself for the whirlwind that was sure to greet her. She wasn’t disappointed when she opened the door to the apartment she shared with Evelyn.

“Dat idiot’s got some nerve!” Evelyn screeched.

“Ah jeez, Evie you don’t mean that.” Tanya was unfazed by the rage that permeated the room. She was sure this was some argument that got out of hand, Eve and Davin would be thick as thieves by morning. The pair didn’t fight often but when they did it was like shooting fireworks, loud and a little obnoxious but over quickly.

“My eye! He tinks he owns me or some’ting. He don’t own me-” Evelyn stopped mid rant and stared at Tanya, she narrowed her eyes, “Say now, what’s got you back at dis hour?” All anger had fizzled and was now being replaced by suspicion.

“Needed some fresh air.” Tanya’s reply was too quick. Evelyn crossed her arms and marched over to the coyote.

“Fresh air, huh? You seem mighty undah dressed fo da weather, shugabee.” She made a grab for the belt that was tied around Tanya’s waist and before the thawing canine could protest Evelyn had already pulled the cloth, causing the coat to fly open. Tanya had trouble covering her modesty and shot a glare Evelyn’s way.

“Eve, was that really necessary?”

“I know I’m far from pure but good’ness, Anya you get ‘round.” Evelyn chuckled to herself as she flung herself onto the couch in the living room.

“What can I say? I like what I like.” Tanya chuckled at the pinched expression that Evelyn tried to hide. Tanya blew the polecat a kiss before sauntering back to her bedroom to change into her nightgown. As the coyote slid on the nearly sheer nightgown she thought about the looks she got and the disapproving stares she received for her unconventional night activities. Evelyn popped her head in with a slightly worried look on her face.

“I just want ta make sho you dun mistake my concern fa judgement. You know I dun care what ya do, s’long as ya safe ‘bout it.” Evelyn offered a small smile and Tanya had to blink back tears at the genuine concern in her friend’s eyes.

“I know, Eve. I love you too.” Tanya’s smile held a bit of sorrow as she thought back to the big blow out she’d had with someone else she thought she loved (and had loved her). Jezebel had voiced her disapproval of Tanya’s life choices one night while walking back from the club. They’d both had a considerable amount to drink and the tension from their current situation had their nerves frayed. So when Jez slyly asked if Tanya would be seeing a gentleman friend that evening Tanya snapped back. The fight escaladed and erupted into a no holds barred shouting match and the two haven’t spoken since. That night Tanya took a long look at her past choices and, like Jez, wondered why she did what she did. After a sleepless night she had some sort of answer, after all in order to understand the present one had to look at their past.

In layman's terms the reason Tanya enjoys sleeping around is because it’s her prerogative. For the first time in a long time Tanya gets to decide what happens with her body. Who she gets to sleep with, what she wants to do with them, and how they went about their various activities. Having that kind of control is a bit exhilarating when one has been deprived of control over oneself for as long as Tanya had.

After Tanya had escaped her parents thumb she stumbled into the hands of a rather charming man who assured her that he had the ideal job for her. The coyote realized too late that he was a whoremonger, and a brutal one at that. He dictated almost every aspect of her life. Night after night Tanya offered her body to drifters, cheaters, and scumbags who did with her what they pleased. She was so used to laying down and accepting what was given to her that when she was given the chance to make a choice she almost made the wrong one. The tall, Russian stranger had asked nothing untoward of her, only offered her a place where she could be gainfully employed and free to do what she pleased. While it wasn’t as virtuous as her previous stint, it was a huge improvement.

Tanya had experienced a sexual awakening when she went to work for Yury. She had the freedom to pick her partners and soon realized that sex when both parties are willing is incredible. So while her loose hips might make some of the prudes scowl at her in distaste, she was having fun and to her that was all that mattered. So while Tanya’s behavior might rub Jez the wrong way she won’t let that be the reason she stops.
